We are raising funds for a new accessible and inclusive playground at Winnequah School. The current playground is nearing replacement, and we are raising funds towards a new playground in which all children can play, regardless of physical ability.
The new playground will include ADA accessible ramps to get onto the play structure, among other inclusive pieces. Inclusive pieces will allow children with walkers, crutches, or wheelchairs to participate in play, and the playground will have areas of poured-in-place rubberized flooring so that a child on wheels can freely access it. The playground will also include sensory-friendly pieces to help children with those particular needs.
All children in our school will be able to freely play with their peers and be included in recess activities. It will be a wonderful addition to our community as well!
This playground will replace the structure closest to the school.
